The Story Behind Annur

Projek Annur began in 2019 when a group of youth found out that there are knowledge gaps about Quranic studies between normal students and underprivileged students.

So they started this initiative to guide them by providing free Quranic classes. What started as informal evening classes in a small village has grown into a comprehensive educational initiative serving hundreds across three distinct programs.

The name "Annur" means "The Light" in Arabic, reflecting our belief that education illuminates the path forward for individuals and communities. We've witnessed transformations that go beyond literacy – children gaining confidence, elderly learners finding purpose, and families strengthening their bonds through shared learning.

Today, Projek Annur operates as an independent NGO, driven by volunteers who share our vision of inclusive education. Every program we run is designed with the understanding that learning is a lifelong journey, and everyone deserves the opportunity to grow.
